Janos Korban (metal specialist) and Stefanie Flaubert (architect) work together from their Sydney workshop producing a complete range of eclectic furniture and lighting. With work exhibited in Australia, Europe, USA and Japan, Korban + Flaubert’s experimental forms and large site-specific commissions are diverse and inventive.
Korban + Flaubert aim to produce innovative forms for furniture and lighting by altering their own perception of each piece. ‘We treat design as a process of discovery. We explore growth patterns in nature and their genius at generating complexity with simplest sequences.’
Derived by forms appearing in nature such as suggestions of cell structures, Korban + Flaubert’s designs are at times mathematical and biological, yet always engaging and inspiring. |
